Gall Test: Good batting from Sri Lanka, Azhar Ali dropped from the team

Sri Lanka scored 315 runs for the loss of six wickets at the end of the first day of the second Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Gall.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first and put in a good batting display on the first day.

Pakistan made two changes to the team that won the first Test, dropping veteran batsman Azhar Ali and bringing back Fawad Alam.

Azhar Ali, who represented Pakistan in 95 matches, was not able to perform well for a long time.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was injured in the first Test, has been replaced by off-spinner Nauman Ali in the team.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first, so their opening batsmen gave the team a good start. Sri Lanka's first wicket fell on 92 runs when Osada Fernando Mohammad Nawaz was caught out by wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.

Pakistan got their second win soon after Kasal Mendis was run out for just three runs.

Sri Lanka's veteran batsmen Angelo Mayhew and Chandi Mal combined to provide stability to the team.

Angelo Mathews and Chandi Mill were dismissed with 42 and 80 respectively.

Muhammad Nawaz took two wickets while Yasir Shah, Nauman Ali, and Naseem Shah took one wicket each.

Fast bowler Naseem Shah showed excellent nipitali bowling on the first day and took one wicket for 34 runs in twelve overs.

Captain Babar Azam dropped two easy catches off the balls of Naseem Shah. On both occasions, the ball came into the hands of Babar Azam but he could not hold it.

It should be noted that the ongoing series consists of two Test matches and Pakistan has won one match.

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets thanks to the brilliant century of young opener Abdullah Shafiq.
