Want Kohli to tour Zimbabwe with team to regain form before Asia Cup, this is his preferred format and will help him regain form before Asia Cup: Rokman Selection Committee

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is likely to tour Zimbabwe with the team for the ODI series scheduled next month. The 33-year-old is enjoying a break from the game and has traveled to Paris with his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Wamika to take a break from the game.

He has been in poor form across all formats and perhaps for the first time in his career, people are calling for him to be dropped from the Indian team.

Kohli played all three formats in England but failed to put up a remarkable performance. He scored just 76 runs at a disappointing average of 12.66 in the five matches he played in England. He is also not part of the white ball series in the West Indies.

However, a new report has surfaced where a member of the selection committee has said that the selectors want Kohli to tour Zimbabwe with the team to regain his form ahead of the Asia Cup.

Hopefully the break will allow him to mentally rejuvenate and get back into shape. But without any competitive cricket it will be difficult. That is why we want him to play against Zimbabwe.

This is his preferred format and will help him regain his form ahead of the Asia Cup. We will closer to the selection make a final decision.

Fans have been waiting for Virat Kohli's century since November 2019 but the batsmen could not convert the start into a big score.

Not only the fans, even the BCCI seems to be worried about their star player and that is why they want him to play against a weak opposition like he has faced recently so that he can improve his performance. May he find his mojo back and perform at his best.
