Bill Gates first visit to Pakistan: Meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan
Visiting Microsoft founder Bill Gates met in the federal capital Islamabad. The meeting agreed to continue cooperation in eradicating polio.
In an important meeting in Islamabad, the two leaders discussed polio eradication and other important issues. Prior to the meeting, Bill Gates also visited the Pakistan Polio Program in Chak Shehzad.
Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant for Health was also present during Chak Shahzad's visit.
Bill Gates was briefed on the Pakistan Polio Campaign Program and the progress and challenges related to polio in Pakistan. Bill Gates praised the steps taken against polio and said that Pakistan has taken steps to eradicate polio.
Bill Gates said that due to the cooperation of polio workers and parents, Pakistan has been polio free for one year and cooperation with Pakistan in polio program will be continued.
Bill Gates appreciated the cooperation of Pakistan's polio workers, health workers and parents.
He also visited the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) headquarters in Islamabad and met the staff there.
Bill Gates was briefed on measures to prevent coronavirus and polio in Pakistan. Bill Gates praised the role of the NCOC during the Corona epidemic.
It is also worth mentioning here that the founder of Microsoft arrived in Pakistan on a one-day visit on Thursday, February 17, where he will spend a busy day. During his visit to Pakistan, Bill Gates will also meet President Dr. Arif Alvi and other important personalities.

In addition, the two leaders had a telephone conversation on April 28 last year, in which they discussed the campaign against COVID 19 and polio and the effects of climate change. The Prime Minister praised the work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for Coronavirus and Poverty Alleviation.
