Pakistani female mountaineer Samina Baig has climbed the second highest peak in the world.
Samina Baig is the first Pakistani woman to climb two heads and the Alpine Club of Pakistan has confirmed the feat of Samina Baig.
According to Karar Haider, secretary of Alpine Club of Pakistan, Saminia Baig has won this honor with her six-member team.
According to Samina Baig's brother Mehboob Ali, Samina Baig has received this honor at around 7:30 in the morning on Friday. After hoisting the Pakistani flag on the summit, they are now on their way back.
Remember that Samina Baig is the first Pakistani woman mountaineer who has conquered the world's highest peak Mount Everest.
This year's adventure tourism season in Pakistan is being termed as 'historic'. There are currently 1400 expeditions from all over the world to climb the world's second highest peak and Nanga Parbat, the world's most dangerous mountain, in the northern regions of Pakistan.
The government has issued adventure licenses to groups of about six hundred climbers this year. Apart from people from all over the world, Pakistani adventurers are active in setting new records and breaking old records, and among such Pakistani climbers are two prominent women climbers, Samina Baig and Naila Kayani.
Samina Baig and Naila Kayani started their respective campaigns to conquer the past two days. No female climber from Pakistan has conquered K2 before.
Both women climbers had been preparing for this adventure for a long time.
Samina Baig
Samina Baig belongs to Shamshal area of Hunza district in Gilgit-Baltistan where many people are mountain climbers.
Samina Baig was fond of adventure from her childhood, but this was the era in which mountaineering in Pakistan was completely dominated by men, but Samina Baig was lucky that her family did not hinder her in this passion Rather encouraged them.
Samina Baig conquered Mount Everest in 2013. On this occasion, his brother and famous mountaineer Mirza Ali was also with him. Apart from this, Samina Baig had conquered seven major peaks of the world in 2014/15.
Samina Baig has twice been appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations. Apart from this, he has also been given Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan.
Samina Baig had left last year's Tow campaign incomplete due to bad weather and extremely unfavorable conditions. Members of his team were caught in an avalanche, forcing him to make a return trip, but this year he resumed his unfinished expedition.
It should be remembered that while K-To awakens the feelings of 'adventure' in the hearts of mountaineers who conquer high peaks, this peak is considered more terrifying than Everest, the highest peak in the world.
One out of every four climbers who attempt to summit this peak die. The death rate on K-2 is 29 percent, in contrast, the same rate on Everest, the world's highest peak, is 4 percent.
