Earlier, the Sri Lankan team declared the second innings 360 runs for 8 out. In the first innings, Sri Lanka had scored 378 runs . Pakistan team was all out for 2 hundred 31 runs.

The Pakistani team was saved in the Karachi Test, but in the second Test of the series in Galle, it was not possible for them to save the match and Sri Lanka won the match with a huge margin of 246 runs and leveled the Test series at one, one.

On the fifth day of the Galle Test, the Pakistani team had to win this match by scoring 419 runs at an average of four runs per over to fulfill Muhammad Yusuf's wish, but as a result of four wickets falling in the first session, the matter came to save the match. And when the important wicket of Babar Azam fell in the second session, the Pakistani team had read the script.

At the lunch break, the Pakistani team scored 189 runs for five wickets. This means that in this session she was able to add 100 runs but after half the team went to the pavilion, she was now worried about saving the match.

He was lucky that captain Babar Azam was at the crease after scoring 76 runs, but after the lunch break, that hope also died.

Babar Azam was lbw off Jayasuriya's own ball on an individual score of 81

Imam-ul-Haq and Babar-e-Azam started the second innings on 89 runs a wicket, then Imam needed only four runs to complete his first half-century in this series, but it could not be a half-century and on the first ball of the third over of the day. He was caught by wicketkeeper Dick Villa trying to cut Ramesh Mendes on 49 runs.

There were two difficult moments in Babar Azam's innings. At the score of 34, the umpire gave him lbw off Prabath Jayasuriya, but Babar did not delay in taking a review and his decision was proved correct.

When his score was 78 runs, Dhananjaya De Silva dropped his catch at slip off Jayasuriya's own ball. However, Babar failed to capitalize on the opportunity and was eventually bowled lbw by Jayasuriya on an individual score of 81. This time even the review could not save his wicket.

Before Babar Azam, the Pakistani team had lost the wickets of Mohammad Rizwan, Fawad Alam and Agha Salman. Rizwan was bowled by Jayasuriya after scoring 37 runs, then Fawad Alam was run out after scoring only one run and lost his wicket. He showed his intention to take the run by playing the ball at mid-on, but Babar Azam's hesitation cost Fawad dearly.

Agha Salman was the target of a brilliant catch by short leg fielder Kosal Mendes off Jayasuriya for four runs.

After the dismissal of Babar Azam, the important question was how long the Pakistani team could keep the defeat away from them, but after the dismissal of Mohammad Nawaz on an unnecessary shot, the defeat was closer and the Sri Lankan team only thought about this. There was no rain before his victory.

The more the Sri Lankan team wanted to wrap up, the more Yasir Shah was teasing them with his aggressive batting. Yasir Shah hit two fours in the same over, first off Jayasuriya and then off Mendes. Seeing him batting like this, Hasan Ali's mouth also watered and he hit a four and a six in one of Mendes's overs.

However, these conditions did not last long as Yasir Shah scored 27 runs with the help of six fours to give Jayasuriya the fifth wicket of the innings and in the next over Hasan Ali was bowled by Mendes for 11 runs.

Off-spinner Ramesh Mendis ended Pakistan's innings at 261 by getting Naseem Shah caught by Vela Lage. This was Mendes' fourth wicket in the innings and ninth in the match.

Prabath Jayasuriya took five wickets in this innings. He dismissed three players in the first innings. He took a total of 17 wickets in the two-Test series.

Earlier, he had taken twelve wickets in the first Test of his Test career against Australia at Galle and thus Jayasuriya became England's highest wicket-taker in Test cricket this year with 29 wickets. K has reached the joint number one position with Jack Leach.
