The Taliban government in Afghanistan has confirmed the talks between the Pakistani government and the Pakistani Taliban in Kabul and said that progress has been made in the talks, said Zabihullah Mujahid, Deputy Information Minister of the Afghan Taliban government in a statement. Has also been agreed upon.

He said that the Afghan government was playing the role of mediator in the negotiations between the Pakistani government and the Pakistani Taliban.

 He said that progress has been made on important issues in the talks. He said that the Islamic Emirate sincerely wants the talks to move forward and the two sides to show tolerance to each other and soften their stance.

Earlier, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) declared a ceasefire until May 30.

A spokesman for the TTP said in a statement that a 32-member committee from the Mehsud tribe of Waziristan and a 16-member committee representing different nations from the Malakand division met with the TTP's negotiating committee at the request of the Pakistani government. 

Meetings were held on May 14 in which he strongly demanded that the parties declare a ceasefire while the negotiating committees were sitting.

When NNI contacted the ISPR for comment, an official said they were collecting details. The talks were confirmed at a time when two key TTP leaders, Muslim Khan and Mahmood Khan, were reportedly released. 

According to sources, the two released TTP leaders have been handed over to the Afghan Taliban. There was no official statement on the release of the TTP leaders. The two leaders were named in a list of more than 100 TTP fighters the TTP wants released.
