Pakistan offers formula for resolving Russia-Ukraine conflict

''Three steps should be taken to end the war.'' Ceasefire, negotiations and implementation of past agreements should be done.

Pakistan gave a formula for resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which called for a ceasefire, negotiations and implementation of previous agreements.

Pakistan's future envoy to the UN, Munir Akram, told Geo News that both The sides have a position and some important interests and it is because of these interests that this war has taken place.

He said that three steps should be taken to end the war. Ceasefire, negotiations and implementation of previous agreements should be done. Problems should be resolved according to UN Charter.

He said that Pakistan wants UN Charter. The Prime Minister said the same thing in a meeting with Putin, adding that diplomacy should continue because war is a failure of diplomacy.

We should have diplomatic space so that we can try to make peace. The problem of America and Russia is on one side, we have to look after our own, if we take a unilateral position then there is no room for diplomacy.

Munir Akram, Permanent Representative of the United Nations, said that Pakistan is committed to the fundamental right of the people to self-determination, the threat of instability or use of force, sovereignty of states and territorial integrity and peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with the basic principles of the UN Charter.

The pursuit of equal and indivisible security must be equally sustained and respected globally.

According to details, addressing a special emergency session of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, Munir Akram said that Pakistan expresses deep concern over the recent developments which is a reflection of the failure of diplomacy.

''Prime Minister Imran Khan lamented the most contentious situation between Russia and Ukraine and hoped that diplomacy could avert a military conflict.''
