Barrister Shehzad Akbar, Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Accountability and Home Affairs, has resigned from his post.

In his message on Twitter on Monday, Shehzad Akbar said that he had tendered his resignation to the Prime Minister and he sincerely hoped that the process of accountability in the country would continue in accordance with the manifesto of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He said that he would remain attached to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and would also continue to work as a lawyer.

After splitting from the NAB, Shehzad Akbar stayed abroad for a long time and then returned to Pakistan to file petitions in the high courts against the US drone strikes in the then Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
