According to details, the authorities have handed over the project to Habib Bank for providing modern facilities to the people in NADRA centers.
According to media reports, NADRA has entrusted Habib Bank with the responsibility of setting up point of sales terminals for credit card and debit card payments at its centers.''On the occasion, Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik said that with the installation of POS terminals at NADRA centers, the process of payment through debit and credit cards would be possible.''
He said that the installation of terminals would also improve the performance of these centers while providing the most convenient and accurate services to the citizens.
On the other hand, Director General of NADRA Naveed Jan Sahibzada while addressing an awareness seminar on the importance of registration of women in Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the percentage of women in the population is 52% while that of men is 48%. In contrast, the registration rate of women is 45% while that of men is 55%.
He said that this disparity was hampering the parallel development of the society.
He said that due to lack of registration, women are also deprived of many facilities provided by the government, therefore NGOs working especially for women have to play an active role in ensuring registration of women.
Ensuring that they can be made a dynamic and active part of the mainstream of national economic development. He said that for the registration of women, NADRA has also allocated a mobile registration van which will go to remote areas besides urban areas and provide facility to women to get identity cards.
He also assured that at the request of President Atif Munir Sheikh, NADRA would set up e-facilitation center and special registration center of NADRA at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 16-17 will be able to get facilities immediately. He also assured to expedite the issues of business community related to NADRA and said that in this regard NADRA Zonal Head Sarfraz Ahmed would be in direct touch with him.
Atif Munir Sheikh, President, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, termed women as the most important part of economic development and said that Pakistan could not develop by excluding 52% of the country's population from the mainstream of development. At the same time, it is giving them special incentives to integrate them into the economic mainstream.
He said that he would try to ensure 100% registration of women in Faisalabad during the next one year and in this regard awareness sessions would be held regularly.
The event was also attended by District Election Commissioner One Basil Akram, Member Punjab Assembly Ms. Firdous Rai and renowned social worker Ms. Amina Zaman. At the end, President Atif Munir Sheikh appreciated the efforts of Zonal Head Sarfraz Ahmed in making the best arrangements for the awareness session and also presented honorary shield of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to NADRA Director General Naveed Jan Sahibzada.
