New Zealand beat Namibia by 52 runs in the Group Two match of the ICC T20 World Cup for the third time in the event.

Namibia were knocked out of the semi-finals after losing to New Zealand.

In the 36th match of the T20 World Cup, New Zealand defeated Namibia by 52 runs and almost confirmed the ticket to the semi-finals.

In the match being played in Sharjah, Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus decided to field first after winning the toss. New Zealand started confidently but the Kiwis lost wickets from time to time but scored 163 runs in the allotted 20 overs.

Namibia did not have a good start in pursuit of the target, losing 111 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs. Unsuccessful and managed to score only 16 runs, Zain Green remained prominent by scoring 23 runs.

For New Zealand, Seth Southee and Trent Bolt took two wickets each while Jimmy Nasheem, Ash Sodhi and Mitchell Satner took one wicket each.

Earlier, New Zealand had scored 163 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In the closing moments of the match, Glenn Phillips and Jimmy Nesham played aggressively and scored 39 and 35 runs respectively.

For Namibia, Schultz, David Wiese and captain Gerhad Erasmus took one wicket each.

The Namibian captain decided to field first after winning the toss and said that he would try to set up by defeating the Kiwi team in the event.
