Biden contacts Macron, France decides to send ambassador back to Washington
For the first time since the submarine deal with Australia, the presidents of the United States and France have made contact.
According to foreign media, the telephone conversation between US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the tensions arising out of the submarine deal.
According to the report, during a telephone conversation with the US President, France decided to send its ambassador back to Washington next week and the two countries also agreed to start a better consultation process.
It may be recalled that Australia had broken its agreement with France and decided to buy submarines from the United States, on which France was angry and recalled its ambassadors from the United States and Australia.
