Dua Zahra meets parents

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has reserved judgment on the medical report of Dua Zehra, a girl who went missing from Karachi and later recovered from Punjab province. Dua Zahra also met her parents on Wednesday, after which her father claimed that she wanted to go back home with them.

It may be recalled that earlier in the medical test conducted on the order of the court, the age of Dua Zahra was determined but her father Mehdi Kazmi expressed reservations over her report.

According to the medical report of the radiology department of Civil Hospital Karachi, Dua Zahra is between 16 and 17 years old and her age is around 17 years.

However, according to local media, Dua Zahra's father Mehdi Kazmi has expressed reservations over the medical report.

what happened in the court proceedings on Monday?

The Sindh High Court had ordered a medical test to determine the age of Dua Zahra and sent her to Darulaman in Karachi.

On Monday, Sindh Advocate General Salman Talib-ud-Din asked the two-member bench, which is already hearing the constitutional petition of her parents regarding the alleged abduction of Dua Zahra, to hear the case immediately. ''Which was approved by the court.''

Senior police officials took Dua Zahra and her husband Zaheer Ahmed to the courtroom to hear the case. Meanwhile, Dua's parents tried to talk to him but Dua refused.

His father Mehdi Ali Kazmi has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court seeking his recovery.

On Monday, Punjab police recovered Dua Zahra and handed her over to Karachi police. According to DIG Investigation Kamran Adil, Dua Zahra and her husband Zaheer had taken shelter at a relative's house in Chishtian Tehsil of Bahawalnagar District.

Sindh Advocate General Salman Talib-ud-Din told the court that the court had last week ordered the IG Sindh to recover the girl and produce her before the court while the Lahore High Court had also issued similar orders.

Justice Junaid Ghaffar of Sindh High Court asked that when the case is scheduled for hearing on June 10, then why bring it today? To which AG Salman Talib replied that the court had ordered that as soon as Dua Zahra was recovered, she should be produced before the court.

Salman Talib said that the Lahore High Court has also issued an order to present the dua in the court on June 10.

On this occasion, Justice Amjad Sehto asked where is the accused? On which Salman Talib said that the girl had left the province voluntarily.

He said that the girl went to Punjab and got married to Muhammad Zaheer of her own free will. Their action did not violate the law here (Sindh).

The court asked if a case of abduction of the girl has not been registered here. Altaf Khosa, counsel for Dua's parents, intervened and said that Dua was under 18 years of age and his abduction case was registered in Karachi.

The lawyer for Dua's parents also told the court that Dua is a minor and is 13 years and a few months old while the investigation of the case has not been completed yet.

The court summoned Dua Zahra to the rostrum and asked her how old she was, to which Dua told the court, “My name is Dua Zahra and I am 16-17 years old. I live with Zaheer. "

The judge asked where she was staying, to which Dua told the court that "the house number is not known."

Justice Sehto asked that his father had said that Zaheer had abducted him, to which Dua replied that "I was not abducted but I went of my own free will."

Justice Sahoto then asked Dua, "Where do you want to go now?" So Dua said that she wants to go with her husband Zaheer.

Details of the court hearing on Wednesday

Dua Zahra appeared before the Sindh High Court on Wednesday and recorded her statement. The court has told Advocate General Sindh that you can file this case in the trial court, we have your petition, the girl has recorded a statement with us.

On the inquiry of the court, Advocate General Sindh told the court that the custody has to be presented in the Lahore High Court as the Lahore High Court has passed an order that he be produced there on June 10.

Dua Zahra's father's lawyer objected and said that there is a procedure for presenting someone before the court, if the case is going on here then how can the girl be presented there.

There was an interesting conversation between the court and the lawyer at that moment. The court asked the lawyer not to take the case personally, give arguments. During the hearing, when the court summoned Dua Zahra to the rostrum, her father told the court, "I have been married for 16 years, so how did my daughter turn 17?"

He is of the opinion that his daughter is 14 years old and his fake marriage certificate has been made for underage marriage. They demand re-medical in the presence of parents and formation of a medical board for verification of age.

It should be noted that Dua Zahra went missing from Karachi in April this year. She later claimed in a video message that she had married.

Dua Zahra meets parents

When Dua Zahra appeared on the rostrum, the court asked Dua Zahra if she would like to meet her father. As soon as they heard these remarks of the court, they started crying. The court then directed Dua to meet the parents in the chamber.

The meeting lasted for ten minutes in the chamber during which emotional scenes were witnessed. After the meeting, the police took Dua Zahra with them. Dua Zahra's mother said that my daughter said that she wanted to go home, my daughter was forcibly taken away from here. Dua's mother fainted while talking to the media.
