Former Pakistan Test fast bowler Umar Gul has been appointed as the new bowling coach and consultant for the Afghanistan men's team. 

Omar Gul, 37, told the Express News correspondent that he would join the Afghanistan cricket team's camp in Abu Dhabi on April 4.

According to reports, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has initially signed a three-week agreement with Umar Gul, but the agreement could be extended.

Sources said that Omar Gul will join the Afghan team's camp in Abu Dhabi on April 4.

 Omar Gul confirmed on Twitter that he has become the bowling consultant for the Afghanistan cricket team and said, "It is an honor for me. I will do my best to share my experience with the players."

The right-handed fast bowler, who has taken more than 400 international wickets in his career, said that initially a three-week contract was signed with the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), after which it is possible that Will be expanded.

Omar Gul said that it is a pleasure to be associated with an international team after coaching at PSL, KPL, LPL and domestic level. I will do my best to help the Afghan bowlers with my experience. 

It may be recalled that former England batsman Graham Thorpe was appointed as the head coach of Afghanistan a few days ago.

On the other hand, former Pakistan captain Younis Khan is also expected to get responsibilities with the Afghanistan cricket team.
