PESHAWAR: At least 30 people have been killed and 50 others injured in a blast at Jamia Masjid in Peshawar's busy Qissa Khawani Bazar, according to rescue sources.
According to rescue sources, 50 injured people have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital so far out of which 10 are in critical condition.
Children are also among the injured. Shortly before this, the spokesperson of Lady Reading Hospital Muhammad Asim told the media that so far ten injured have been shifted to the hospital for medical treatment and most of the injured are being shifted to the hospital due to which there is fear. That the number of injured may increase.
According to the SPCT, a large number of worshipers were present in the mosque at the time of the blast.
Upon receiving the report of the incident, the police immediately rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Immediately after the blast, an emergency was declared at Lady Reading Hospital and due to narrow streets, it was difficult to transport the injured to the hospital.
''According to eyewitnesses, the blast took place during Friday prayers.''
