The Prime Minister said that he had sought details of action against the IG Punjab for those responsible for the Mian Channu incident and the police personnel who failed to perform their duties.
It should be noted that in the videos released on social media on Saturday, February 12, it can be seen that after the evening prayers in Jangal Dera village of Mian Channu, such announcements were made that a person tore the pages of the Qur'an and set them on fire. Hundreds of locals gathered to hear.
The mob did not listen to the accused and first hung him from a tree and then beat him to death.
In a video released on social media, a man said that the police team reached the village and took the accused into custody but the mob snatched him from the custody of the SHO.
Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has also sought a report from IG Punjab on the incident.
FIR
The person who was killed has also been named in the FIR registered in connection with the incident. The FIR has been registered in the citizen's complaint.
Fawad Chaudhry
Reacting to the incident, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that if schools, police stations and pulpits were not reformed in the society, then be prepared for catastrophe.
"I have repeatedly pointed out destructive extremism in my education system. Incidents like Sialkot and Mian Channu have been the result of decades-old education system. This is a problem of law enforcement as well as degradation of society," he said.
Sialkot incident
It may be recalled that just two months before the recent incident of mob violence, a Sri Lankan manager was beaten to death by factory workers in Sialkot, which had garnered international attention.
According to a report, Priyantha Kumara, a strict disciplinarian, was subjected to inhumane treatment for removing a poster inviting her to a religious meeting, accusing her of blasphemy and then setting her body on fire.
