PSL 7, Lahore Qalandars beat Quetta Gladiators by 8 wickets
Another half century of Fakhr Zaman, Lahore almost reached the playoffs
Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators by 8 wickets in the match of 7th edition of Pakistan Super League. In the match being played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and invited Quetta Gladiators to bat.
Quetta Gladiators' innings did not start well as Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi forced Jason Roy and James Venus to return to the pavilion in the first over.
When captain Sarfraz and Ehsan Ali tried to play on the wicket, Sarfraz Ahmed was run out on a total score of 20, after which Ehsan Ali also returned to the pavilion on 25. When Umar Akmal and Iftikhar Ahmed tried their best to handle the batting line, Akmal was also dismissed for an individual score of 25 and a total score of 54.
Then Iftikhar Ahmed continued the game by batting responsibly while Hassan Khan Supported, then Hassan Khan scored 17 runs and got out on a total score of 106.
Hassan Khan was the sixth to be dismissed for an individual score of 17 and a total score of 106. After that, Iftikhar Ahmed batted brilliantly with the help of 3 sixes and 2 fours off 39 balls and scored 52 runs for the total score of 124. Quetta scored 141 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. For Qalandars, Shaheen Afridi and David Wise took 2.2 wickets each while Rashid Khan and Haris Rauf took one wicket each.
Fakhr Zaman and Abdullah Shafiq started the innings for the Lahore Qalandars in pursuit of the 142-run target when Abdullah Shafiq was caught by Ghulam Mudassir on a total score of 41. Kamran Ghulam came on the wicket and he was full of Fakhr Zaman.
Gave up Fakhr once again showed excellent batting and scored a half century but he returned to the pavilion for 53 runs. Kamran Ghulam also batted well and gave victory to the team. He remained prominent by scoring 55 runs off 39 balls.
Two changes have been made in the Quetta Gladiators squad for the match. Hassan Khan replaces Shahid Afridi and Sohail Tanveer replaces James Faulkner.
