Unidentified miscreants attacked the Karachi Green Line bus, pelted stones at the bus full of passengers at 4 different places on the main route, smashed the side glass and other windows of the bus. According to details, the inauguration of the first mass transit project in Karachi, the largest city in the country, has just started a few days ago and efforts are being made to harm it.
According to media reports, it has been revealed that the Green Lines bus was stoned. It has been reported that a green line bus full of passengers was pelted with stones at four different places between Surjani and Namaish area of Karachi. As a result, the bus was damaged. The stone pelting shattered the side glass and other windows of the bus, but the passengers remained safe.
After the incident, the Green Line bus management submitted a request to the police.
After the incident of stoning on Green Line bus, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail took notice and said that the attack on Green Line bus was very unfortunate. He said that the green line bus service was provided by the federal government to provide long awaited and comfortable service to the people of Karachi. That is a very worrying process.
Governor Sindh said that SIDCL has also complained to the regular police. He added that there should be an inquiry into the pelting of stones on the Green Line bus, monitoring such incidents. Governor Sindh said that strict action would be taken against all the elements involved in the attack on Green Line bus and the culprits involved would be punished.
The Governor Sindh contacted DG Rangers Sindh on phone and while talking about the incident also asked the Rangers personnel to patrol the route of Green Line so that any untoward incident could be dealt with in future.
