Russia and China have made important decisions to tackle issues together
China and Russia, two of the world's great powers, have agreed to work together for global stability and peace.
According to Russian media, the Chinese and Russian presidents held a video link meeting on Wednesday in which relations between the two countries were described as a model of real inter-state cooperation in the 21st century.
On the occasion, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that close coordination between Russia and China at the international level and a responsible common vision for resolving related global issues are important elements of stability in international relations.
The Russian president also stressed that Moscow and Beijing have consistently supported each other's cooperation in international sports, including not accepting any attempt to politicize the Games and the Olympics.
Vladimir Putin said he was confident that the 2022 Winter Olympics would be held in Beijing at a high level because China knows how to do it.
He added that he would attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics and would also meet the Chinese President on the occasion.
During the online conversation, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China intends to increase cooperation with Russia and the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization to support security in the region.
The Chinese president further said that China intends to promote flexible and multilateral cooperation with Russia and stand for security and stability in the region.
Xi Jinping also said that some powers want to interfere in the internal affairs of Russia and China by violating international law, which is unacceptable.
The Chinese president backed Russia's demand for new security guarantees from the United States, justifying its concerns over growing Western military installations on its eastern borders.
The two countries also stressed the need to further deepen Sino-Russian cooperation following the diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics by the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia.
