UAE announces new rules in January
UAE officials say the new criminal laws will take effect in January, following the biggest legal reforms in the country's history.
The government is making changes to the country's 40 laws, but did not specify which changes are new and which have been made in relation to commercial companies, online security, trade, copyright, housing, drugs and social issues. ۔
According to Turkish media, one of the new changes is the ratification of the federal criminal law, which will take effect on January 2, 2022, aimed at protecting women, domestic workers and the public.
A statement from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said in a statement that it would not be necessary for parents to have sex before marriage.
The statement said that for unmarried couples, it would be a condition for them to either get married or accept the child alone or jointly, and any of them who are citizens would be required to identify the child in accordance with the laws of the country. And provide travel documents.
Authorities said that if the parents did not recognize the child or take care of him, he would be tried under criminal law and sentenced to two years in prison.
The UAE wants to reform its legal system to maintain a competitive edge, as Saudi Arabia has also opened its doors to foreign investment and new talent.
Significant changes so far hve included the abolition of premarital sex, alcoholism, and the relaxation of the honor killing case introduced in November 2020.
Other recent changes include long-term visas to further attract business and attract talent to the country.
Abu Dhabi, on the other hand, introduced its reforms this month and the new secular family law was intended to make itself more attractive to foreigners.
