Mubashir Rahmani: Who are the Pakistani computer scientists among the best researchers in the world?

Recently, it was reported that Mubashir Hussain Rahmani, a computer scientist from Pakistan, has been included in the list of the world's best researchers. The news came that Mubashir Rahmani's name started resounding everywhere and sometimes Mubashir Rahmani started getting congratulations from Pakistan's Ministry of Science and sometimes from US Embassy in Pakistan.

Mubashir Rahmani, who lives in Ireland, told that because he is not on Facebook, he did not even know that people were congratulating him on Facebook.

Some friends said that you are being mentioned there a lot. Former cricketer Shahid Afridi was also among those who congratulated him.''Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either''.

Now the question is, what are they congratulating? What have they done?

What is this list?

Rahmani says this is a list of researchers whose work has been widely covered and appreciated. In fact, after the list is printed, a certificate is issued with the person's name on it.

According to Rahmani, the list is issued by a company called 'Clearevit', which is a kind of regulatory body within research. "No matter how much research is done in the world, no matter where it is published, this organization monitors these publications or journals and only makes lists after ensuring quality."

Mubashir Rahmani says that there are about 18,000 to 20,000 science journals in the world at present. Clarification controls them and every year their impact factor also issues how their quality is. This year, he collected data from as many researchers and scientists as there are around 8 million in the world, from today to the last ten years, and then looked at what he has researched in 10 years. , Which research articles have been published? The best of them, the "Top One Percent", was field-wise and then selected the top one percent for each field.

Explaining this further, Mubashir explains that in the year 2020, for example, only 124 computer scientists in the world came in the category which fell within the top one percent, that is, the top one percent out of tens of thousands of computer scientists. They also check that the scientist is not doing number two, is not doing anything wrong. And his research should not last for one or two years, but he has written a lot of research articles and for a long time and those articles are also very cited articles, that is, they have been mentioned a lot.

List of Highly Researchers and five Nobel Prizes

According to Mubashir Rahmani, the five Nobel Prize winners this time are also on the list of Highly Researchers, which includes their names.

"I'm not saying that computer science research is equal to the Nobel Prize, and it can't be, because the Nobel Prize is not in the field of computer science. But it is a matter of honor that where these great scientists are being kept, we have been kept some distance from them. This is a great honor for me. One of my textbooks is being read at a university in Ireland. '

Why is evangelistic research important and what is this field?

According to Mubashir, in simple language it is a computer network and if we expand it a little, it is related to all kinds of communication networks. For example, I have worked on mobile phone networks, 4G, 5G, 6G, in addition to (Behind the Enemy Lines) which are cognitive radio networks operating behind enemy lines. Just like when an army attacks a country, it has to go there and establish its own communication, because the enemy retreats and destroys the communication network. It must be of a very high standard which cannot be hacked. They are communication software designed radios. This technology has been used in the military for a long time, but I have a lot of work to do on how to make it commercially available to the public.

Citing an example, he says that just like when you insert a SIM into a mobile phone, you are connected to a network. So SIM has a chip that connects you to the BTS tower and then you are communicating at a certain frequency. A mobile with cognitive radio will be a mobile that has intelligence in it and based on this intelligence it will check or hack the frequencies and will establish its communication on whatever it finds empty. Similarly, a mobile with cognitive radio will not have a SIM, it will automatically find the empty frequency and establish a connection on it. I've worked hard on its rules and procedures. "

Journey from Karachi to Ireland

Mubashir Hussain Rahmani was born and raised in Karachi. The parents were from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He studied up to FSC in Karachi and then completed his degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro in 2004.

He says that after that he worked in Karachi for one year, but his search for further studies did not diminish. Because he was not financially comfortable enough to go abroad and get higher education, he has been trying to get a scholarship somehow. God willing, I got a scholarship from the Government of Pakistan's Higher Education Commission. In which he could do PhD after Masters. A professor from France came and did a long interview. Although it was very difficult, but by the grace of God he succeeded.

"I could not have imagined that a person belonging to a middle class family would get a scholarship from the government of Pakistan. I set foot on French soil in 2007 for higher education. But before that, a six-month French language course was conducted in Karachi, which was very beneficial. I did a Masters in Network and Telecom from the Spleek Engineering School, one of the most prestigious engineering schools in France, and then went on to pursue a PhD at the leading research university in France, Peich & Marie Curie. There I completed my PhD in three years and three months and by the grace of God I was awarded a PhD degree with the title 'Very Honorable'.

Love France and desire to be there permanently

Rahmani says that after completing his education, he tried to take up permanent residence in France.''I like Paris very much and there is nothing wrong with that''. Because I had a degree in higher education there, I was eligible for a passport. I was about to take a permanent job there when the government of Pakistan contacted me saying that you are a PhD scholar and have gone to study with the money of tax peers, so come back and fulfill the five year bond that you have signed. Has been done.

''I consulted with my friends and wrote to them that there are two clauses in the bond''. The first is that I will serve the country for five years after coming to Pakistan and the second is that I will return your money with a fine. Because I see my future here, my intention has changed, so I am ready to return the money. He said,''Okay, but you have to repay all that money in one or two installments, which was a good amount. The Higher Education Commission used to pay me nine hundred and fifty euros every month and in four years this amount had gone into millions of rupees. I told them I would get the job right now so I could return that much money to you in one or two installments. Then I consulted the religious scholars and my family and they said no, it would be a lie. Leave your job offer and come back immediately. I showed a lot of heart but I thought not to break the promise so I came back in 2012. On his return from Karachi, he became an Assistant Professor in the 19th grade in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Comsats, in Wah Cantt.''And he worked there for five years''.

Mubashir continued to receive the Best Researcher award there as well. Although these awards had no international status, their performance at the university level was appreciated. In addition, he received the award for the best research paper from the Higher Education Commission almost every year.''A research friend of mine and I also wrote a paper on which we both won the award for best research paper''.

The evangelist says I still love France, I have learned a lot there, but now I am married and my wife does not speak French and does not want to learn anymore. "Keep it in a country where English is spoken," she says. So there is a lot of choice but there is compulsion.

When did you come to Ireland?

Mubashir Rahmani came to Ireland in 2017 after fulfilling his promise according to Bond in Pakistan and is now teaching there. He first did a one-year postdoctoral job in the Republic of Ireland and then began teaching as an assistant lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Munster Technological University in Cork, its second largest city.

Religion and science

Dr. Rahmani first lived in France where Muslims complain that laws are being tightened against them and in Pakistan religious parties have been protesting against it and now Dr. Rahmani is in Ireland which is a country in Western Europe. Considered to have the largest Christian religious population, have they ever had a problem with their religion or appearance? Dr. Rahmani's answer is very simple. He says that when there is only research in your mind, other things seem small.

''Look, if you are an expert in your field, doing your job and not exploiting religion in vain, why would anyone disturb you''. Ninety percent, like Ireland and France, have a good atmosphere, and if there are one or two such cases, you should not ride them. When I was in France from 2007 to 2012, I never felt that I was sidelined because of my religion or my appearance. I was well integrated into society. Well, some things happen everywhere, but let me tell you - there is so much tolerance in these societies that they accept you.
