Overseas voters are mostly from 20 districts

Inflation in Pakistan may reduce Imran Khan's popularity, but political analysts say that Imran Khan is still popular among overseas Pakistanis, so Wednesday's legislation gives overseas Pakistanis the right to vote in the 2023 election. Can turn the tide.

The number of registered voters in Pakistan is about 120 million and the number of overseas Pakistanis who can now become voters is 8 million which constitutes 7 to 8% of the total voters of Pakistan.

Most of the overseas voters are from 20 districts of Pakistan, the largest number being from Lahore where there are more than 700,000 overseas voters in 14 constituencies of the National Assembly.

It should be noted that if we look at the results of the 2018 elections, the PTI lost 8 seats to the PML-N by a margin of less than 50,000, which makes it clear that the votes of overseas Pakistanis can play a decisive role in the elections.

After Lahore, 470,000 voters in 5 constituencies of Sialkot and 750,000 voters in 7 constituencies of Rawalpindi are living abroad.

346 Pazar 960 votes in four constituencies of Karachi Central and 221,312 votes in four constituencies of Karachi East belong to overseas Pakistanis. 2 lakh 25 thousand 764 voters of 3 seats of Swat are also out of Pakistan. Islamabad has only 2 seats in the National Assembly but overseas has more than 200,000.

PTI is the most popular among overseas Pakistanis while PTI is also among the leading activists abroad. If the turnout of overseas Pakistanis is good then Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will get clear benefit.
