The Punjab government on Thursday issued a notification to remove Maulana Saad Rizvi, head of the religious and political party Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan, from the list of the Fourth Schedule. Apart from Saad Rizvi, the names of dozens of people associated with Tehreek-e-Labbaik have been removed from the Fourth Schedule.

The Fourth Schedule is a list of people who are suspected of spreading terrorism or sectarianism under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.

According to the notification issued by the Punjab government, Allama Saad Rizvi's name was included in the fourth schedule on the recommendation of the district intelligence committee as he is the head of the organization which was banned. The notification said that since Tehreek-e-Labbaik was removed from the list of banned organizations on November 7, the name of the head of the organization has also been removed from the fourth schedule.

It may be recalled that after an agreement was reached with the government, the arrested activists of Tehreek-e-Labbaik were released while the name of the organization was removed from the banned organizations. Was announced.

Regarding the removal of Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan from the list of banned organizations, the government claims that the move will help bring the party into the national mainstream, while the party says that the government's move to remove Tehreek-e-Labbaik from the list of banned organizations. But their concerns will not go away unless the names of the party workers are removed from the Fourth Schedule and their bank accounts are restored.

The names of hundreds of party workers were removed from the Fourth Schedule

According to an official of the Punjab Home Department, most of the names of Tehreek-e-Libek members who have been removed from the Fourth Schedule are from Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujarat and Rawalpindi.

According to the official, SBP and NADRA and Passport Office have also been informed about this development as not only their bank accounts but also their identity cards and passports were closed due to being in Fourth Schedule. Were also blocked.

According to Mufti Umair, a member of Tehreek-e-Labbaik's Majlis-e-Shura, more than 700 members of his party were on the Fourth Schedule list.

It is worth mentioning here that a person whose name is included in the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act cannot go to any other city without informing the rational police station.

Mufti Umair said that those belonging to his party were informing the wise authorities about the names of those who were left in the fourth schedule and these officials had assured his party of full cooperation.

He said the bank accounts of most members of his party were blocked in April this year when Tehreek-e-Libek was added to the list of banned parties.

He said his party had dozens of workers whose bank accounts had been blocked for two or three years already.

"Cases will not be affected"

However, according to legal experts, despite being out of the fourth schedule, the cases registered against Saad Rizvi will not be affected.

Punjab Advocate General Ahmed Owais said that despite the removal of Allama Saad Rizvi's name from the fourth schedule, it would not affect the cases registered against him.

He said that the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the detention of Tehreek-e-labbaik chief was final and whenever any division bench of the Lahore High Court heard his application for detention, he should keep this order of the Supreme Court before him. In which the apex court had asked the High Court to take into account the anti-terrorism provisions while hearing the petition.

Why was Saad Rizvi arrested?

Saad Rizvi was arrested on charges of inciting his party workers to protest against the government, during which several people were killed and injured in violent acts.

The Lahore High Court had ordered the lifting of Saad Rizvi's detention, but the Punjab government appealed to the Supreme Court against the decision, which annulled the detention and remanded the case to the Lahore High Court. It also ordered that a division bench of the Lahore High Court look into the matter.

After the arrest of Saad Rizvi, the Tehreek-e-labbaik had started a series of violent protests in several cities of the country during which at least four policemen were killed and hundreds of others were injured.
