IMF demanded Do More from the government of Pakistan

The rupee should be further devalued and immediate steps should be taken to eliminate tax exemptions. International Monetary Fund's stance on deadlock in negotiations remains.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has demanded Do More from the government of Pakistan, due to which the talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have not progressed and the deadlock remains. According to media reports, the IMF has demanded further devaluation of the rupee and immediate steps to eliminate tax exemptions, leading to talks between Pakistan and the IMF to recover  6 billion in debt. Deadlock persists.

The report quoted sources in the finance ministry as saying that no progress had been made in the talks and that the IMF had not yet indicated to Pakistan that it would approve the loan installment in the talks, while Pakistan would pay the remaining  1 billion to the IMF. It is ready to accept all the conditions but the IMF has demanded Domor because the IMF wants further devaluation of the rupee and measures to end tax exemptions.

On the other hand, Finance and Revenue Advisor Shaukat Tareen said that the impression of failure of negotiations with IMF is wrong, Pakistan is giving the impression that negotiations have failed, banker always demands domor and we have crossed our deadline. No, the best negotiations have taken place with the IMF. The results of the negotiations with the IMF will come out soon, but no time frame can be given. The nation should not be disappointed. Revolutionary steps are being taken in the field of agriculture. Negotiations between Pakistan and the IMF are moving in a positive direction, with technical talks at the delegation level with the IMF.
