1 million reward for Afghan cricket team for excellent performance against Bangladesh
The Afghan Cricket Board has announced a 1 million afghani reward for the players of Afghanistan's under-19 cricket team for their outstanding performance against Bangladesh.
This was the Afghan cricket team's first foreign tour since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. The tour of Bangladesh consisted of a series of four four-day Tests and five ODIs.
Out of the ODIs, the Afghan cricket team won two matches and lost three, while the Afghan team won the Test match. On his return home, the cricket team was warmly welcomed by the people including the board management.
To encourage the team, the new chairman of the Afghan Cricket Board, Azizullah Fazli, also announced a reward of 1 million afghanis for the players.
It may be recalled that the Afghan Under-19 cricket team came to Pakistan before leaving for Bangladesh and then left for Bangladesh due to the closure of flights at Kabul International Airport.
