Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the federation and Sindh will have to work together for the sake of the country and the province.
Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of the Circular Railway in Karachi, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Karachi was a city that was rapidly taking the whole of Pakistan to the top, but in the 80s, chaos began in the city. And then the problems that befell the city of Karachi affected the whole of Pakistan.
Imran Khan said that Karachi is a city that can attract investment from all over the world but for this the city needs basic infrastructure and the most important thing within the basic infrastructure is the city's transport system. The Circular Railway is a great example of this which will pass through all of Karachi which will reduce the traffic congestion on the roads.
He added, ''As fast as Karachi is expanding, we will have to provide more bus services besides the green line''.
The Prime Minister said that the second major problem in Karachi after transport is clean water. In this regard, the Chairman WAPDA said that in two years, clean water will be provided to Karachi through K4, which is very important for the city. It will be a great blessing.
Imran Khan said that the federal and Sindh governments have to work together to solve other problems in Karachi because there are many things in which the federal government alone can not do anything and in many cases the provincial government alone is nothing. We have to keep our political differences aside and we have to work together for the sake of the country, for the sake of Sindh.
The Prime Minister said that the Chief Minister has asked Sindh to reconsider the issue of Bundle Island, it will benefit Sindh the most, Sindh will get jobs, the pressure on the province will be less because if Karachi spread like this. So it will be very difficult to provide all the facilities to such a big city.
It may be recalled that Karachi Circular Railway will be 29 km long at a cost of Rs. 207 billion, the project will be completed in 3 years, KCR will have 4 coaches in which more than 800 passengers will be able to travel.
