The head of a newborn baby was severed while giving birth at home in the Saudi city of Makkah.
According to an Arab media report, the situation took a turn for the worse during a maternity case at the home of a Pakistani woman living in Makkah.
The woman was taken to a children's hospital in Makkah in critical condition, according to the report.
According to Arab media, the hand of the newborn was out of the mother's womb during the birth, after which the baby's head was severed from the torso and the woman's family rushed the baby's torso and head to the hospital.
The hospital management said that a report has been lodged informing the police about the incident.
According to media reports, the woman's condition is better. She has been discharged but the body of the child has been kept at the hospital for autopsy.
It is said that the complicated maternity case of the woman was being performed at home without any operation and the situation took a terrible turn.
