Why was the visit to Pakistan canceled? The former England captain spoke out against his own board

Former England captain Michael Atherton

Former England captain Michael Atherton has criticized his own board for canceling a tour of Pakistan by the English Cricket Board.

When the English cricket team canceled its scheduled tour of Pakistan in October, the British government immediately expressed its displeasure over the decision but the silence of the England Cricket Board could not be broken.

Whatmore and Tom Harrison are missing from the board at a time when former England captain Michael Atherton is also worried about why the English board is not saying anything.

Criticizing the cricket board, Michael Atherton said that the ECB has to break its silence now, why did it cancel the tour of Pakistan?

The former captain said that the English Players Association and the British High Commission in Pakistan were not aware of the decision.

He said that former England women cricketers and chairman PCB are also upset with this decision and the solution is for the England Cricket Board to break its silence on the decision not to go to Pakistan.

It should be noted that on September 20, the England Cricket Board officially announced the end of the tour of Pakistan.

The ECB said that 2 T20 matches were to be played between England and Pakistan but in this situation visiting the region is not ideal for the players.

The ECB's statement came just days after New Zealand announced the sudden end of its tour of Pakistan shortly before the match due to security concerns.
