League minority leader demands change of national identity card
Kheil Das Kohistani, a minority member of the PML-N, demanded the removal of important information, including the residential address on the identity card.
Kheil Das Kohistani took a stand in the resolution that the residential address on the identity card should be hidden, the relevant information should be in the authority record only and not on the card.
The resolution further said that mischievous elements and subversive groups misuse this information, directing NADRA to change the pattern of identity cards.
The text of the resolution said that the system of national identity card is important in the payment of state services, however, the situation in remote areas shows that many citizens have lost their lives due to this.
He said that Article 15 of the Constitution gives every citizen the right to reside in any area while the address on the identity cards leads to many fatal accidents.
