The chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board has expressed his desire for an ODI series to be hosted by Pakistan.

Azizullah Fazli, chairman of the Afghan Cricket Board, said he would visit Pakistan this weekend to offer to host the Pakistan team for the ODI series, according to AFP.

According to AFP, Azizullah Fazli declined to give a clear answer to a question about women's participation in sports.

He said that he also intends to visit important countries in the region regarding cricket.

The Afghan cricket board chairman said he would visit Pakistan from September 25, after which he would travel to India, Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates to meet with cricket board officials.

He added that he would meet Rameez Raja, the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, in which he would offer Pakistan to host the series which was to be played in Sri Lanka in September.

"We want to see stable cricket in Afghanistan, which is possible with the cooperation of other countries," he said.

On the other hand, AFP says that Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Rameez Raja has also confirmed the visit of Azizullah Fazli.

The three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Afghanistan was canceled in September due to corona epidemic and logistical problems in Sri Lanka. The series between the two countries is part of the ODI league to qualify for the 2023 World Cup.
