EU decides to maintain Pakistan's GSP Plus status
The European Union has maintained Pakistan's GSP Plus status.
According to the European Commission, consultations are underway between the European Union and the Pakistan Joint Commission. The current review does not address Pakistan individually.
The European Commission says new terms for GSP Plus have been discussed and six new conventions have been added to the new terms.
According to the European Commission, the new conventions include the rights of persons with disabilities, the elimination of child labor and the protection of the environment.
It is to be noted that under GSP Plus, incentives given to Pakistani products for access to European markets will continue.
