The inside story of Misbah and Waqar's resignation came to light
LAHORE: The internal story of the resignation of national team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis has come to light.
According to sources, Misbah-ul-Haq had a meeting with PCB chief executive Wasim Khan today in which Wasim Khan asked Misbah-ul-Haq to rest in the New Zealand series while a discussion took place between Misbah and Wasim Khan.
Sources said that Misbah-ul-Haq wanted to coach in the New Zealand series and he also had reservations about the team selection. He was strongly against Azam Khan's inclusion in the team.

On the other hand, sources have claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board has demanded the resignation of Waqar Younis.
It should be noted that Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis were appointed as the head coach and bowling coach of the national cricket team in September 2019 respectively.
Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq will now serve as interim coaches in the home series against New Zealand.
