Malala's statement on the current situation in Afghanistan
The situation in Afghanistan has been reported to be alarming since last week, after which the Taliban have now taken full control of Afghanistan.
Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai has expressed concern over the current situation in Afghanistan.
In a message on a social networking site, Malala Yousafzai said she was deeply concerned about the safety of women and girls in Afghanistan.
We watch in complete shock as Taliban takes control of Afghanistan. I am deeply worried about women, minorities and human rights advocates. Global, regional and local powers must call for an immediate ceasefire, provide urgent humanitarian aid and protect refugees and civilians.
