Gas and oil deposits discovered near Lakki Marwat
Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has discovered gas and oil reserves near Lakki Marwat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Minister of State for Information Farrukh Habib said the discovery would yield 11 million MSCFD of gas and 950 barrels of oil per day.
He said that the gas heating value emitted here is 1150 BTU which is of excellent quality and this is the first discovery in this block, this is the first discovery in Kawagarh formation.
He said that the well was drilled to a depth of 4727 meters by OGDCL and this discovery would also help in meeting the growing energy needs of the country.
